19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
He recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
Moutet saved four early chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
