Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a public message.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The attacks succeed nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
